Tips: Frequency converter vs. variable frequency drive
Frequency converter is to convert the alternating current in the mains electricity into pure sine wave through AC-DC-AC conversion. The output frequency and voltage can be adjusted in a certain range. It is different from VFD for motor speed, also different from the ordinary AC regulated power supply. The frequency converter is very close to the ideal AC power supply. It has stable frequency, stable voltage, zero internal resistance, pure sine wave (no distortion) voltage waveform, and can output the grid voltage and frequency of any country in the world.

Variable frequency drive (VFD) is composed of AC-DC-AC (modulated wave) circuits. Accurately, the VFD is called the frequency inverter. Its output voltage waveform is pulse square wave and has many harmonic components. The voltage and frequency need to change in proportion at the same time, and cannot be adjusted separately, which does not meet the requirements of AC power supply. In principle, it cannot be used as power supply, only for the speed regulation of three-phase asynchronous motor.
