Tips: In today's time, most of control algorithms are available by way of standard blocks or configurable based on IEC 61131 standard in any VFDs excluding very few models/ manufacturers who still depend upon add on hardware for different applications either for making VFD systems cost effective & competitive or due to ignorance of technologies.
VFD will definitely result in energy savings. More can be expected in the 40 - 70% speed range. But one has to see the motor characteristics as well consider the combined effect of the VFD and the motor while evaluating the saving. It will be better to study the whole system before embarking on a costly VFD installation.
