Tips: Variable Frequency Drive vs Soft Starter
Conventional soft starters control AC motor in soft starting by reduced voltage during starting period. But it also causes a significant reduction in starting torque which will prolong acceleration times. Reduction in mechanical stress is achieved at the expense of increase in electrical stresses. Variable frequency drive (VFD) applies V/Hz method for AC motor speed control to make the motor starting from zero speed to required speed “slowly” (can be set as short as 1s according to practical application demand), and maintain a constant torque in the starting period. Therefore, the VFD controls the motor accelerating smoother than soft starter with lesser electrical stresses. This is especially important in the applications where need high starting torques.

I have a 100 KW Diesel Generator giving power to a Electric motor - 60 HP, 3 phase 480 volt, 60 hz, 45 kw. Everytime I turn the Generator on, the pump starts, but turns off, because I can't get 480 starting constant voltage. Please tell me if I can use the 75 hp VFD to correct this issue.

Due to the high inrush current/voltage in starting up, the pump is turned off.
GoHz Variable Frequency Drives can correct this issue, 75 HP VFD is OK.

I have AC motor const speed 50 KW, 3 ph 380V, 50 HZ.
While the available I/P power source is 480 V AC, 60 HZ.
Could this inverter supply this motor.
Also, need to confirm the O/P will be Y in order to use one phase and neutral as 220 V supply for lighting load?
Need to confirm the above loads plus if we have zone 2 version of this inverter.
Please advise
